High Tech High Chula Vista Festival Del Sol Night

Thank you for coming to the first annual high tech high Chulla Vista Festival Del Sol. An exhibition clearly as you can see of our wonderful student work.


Most people think of population growth as just too many people in the world. But we want to show that it was more than just the people, that it was our consumption habits, things that we do on an everyday basis.


So it says students are illustrating themselves, writing themselves, editing themselves. And we'll find them and send them to Achieved primary school in Uganda.

I never really knew much about plastic.


Do you ever pay much attention to it?


When we made it at first, it actually worked all the time. And then they moved this, so it's shorter.


So when the hill doesn't get enough speed, it'll.


Okay. Yeah.


That'll happen.


I went to this, which you can clean up with an industrial hair dryer, and you can actually bend it around tubes, which I actually made this loop.

Got everything to work right. So you can form it easily.


We wrote letters to a congress member and I chose to write to Mayor Cheryl Cox because she had come to our groundbreaking ceremony and I figured that since I met her in person it would be easier to kind of write to her. And I wrote to her about green waste in our landfills because I don't know if you've heard about it but it's actually being ground up and used as ADC which is alternative daily cover. Because California state State law requires that you have to cover the trash every day with something to keep the smell and the rats away. And they're counting it as actually recycling, but it's not really good for the environment because it's an organic material and it's creating greenhouse gases when it rots.


I want to say just a few words about the Perez family drum group. I want to, everyone they can give them a hand, they are going to.


They are going to lead us in a couple of songs, as well as some drumming to say good evening it's father sun. We also want to remember the sacred companion mother earth Is below us as well around us.
