New School Creation

In this email-based online course you will learn the basics of starting your own school, and how to do so in a way that you’ll enhance your students’ learning. Schools aren’t easy to establish, but this course gives you the toolkit needed in order to start on your journey.

Throughout the course, you will need certain materials in order to properly create your comic. They are:

  • A Computer
  • Willing Peers to give feedback

Deliverables

  • A basic understanding of what it takes to open a school.
  • Narrative structure that can be presented in multiple formats to multiple and diverse audiences.

Course Design By

Larry Rosenstock is CEO and founding principal of High Tech High, a network of twelve K-12 public charter schools in California. Larry taught carpentry in urban high schools in Boston and Cambridge and was principal of the Rindge School of Technical Arts, and of the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. He is a winner of the Ford Foundation Innovations in State and Local Government Award, an Ashoka Fellow, and recipient of the McGraw Prize in Education.

Patrick is a former classroom art educator at High Tech High Chula Vista as well as an Instructional Designer for the Office of Graduate Education at MIT. Currently Patrick is working with the HTH Graduate School of Education to enhance user experience for all audiences both on, and off, line.
